FastLabNet

German-Danish Network of Expertise for Fatigue Strength

FastLabNet is a project that contributes to the concentration and development of regional expertises in the area of fatigue strength. For this purpose, the Kiel University of Applied Sciences, Germany and the University of Southern Denmark, Odense, Denmark partnered up providing new and regional unique offers for all kinds of problems within the field of fatigue strength in terms of education, research and development.

The present laboratory for naval architecture at the Kiel University of Applied Sciences, Germany continuously adapts to the modern requirements set by standards within the fields of education, research, and development.

Here, bachelor- and master students can deepen their understanding of problems in statics, vibration and fatigue strengths whilst PhD-students find a suitable experimental environment for their dissertation.

The modernisation covers the offer of research- and development achievements towards the regional industry. The industry and consultants from the surroundings of Schleswig Holstein and Southern Denmark are now able to find theoretical, numerical and experimental knowledge in the region.

The European Interreg 4A-program supports the project financially.
