To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Fachhochschule Kiel we are pleased to announce our 2nd International Staff Week allowing administrative staff of our partner universities to explore mobility examples in Kiel and across Europe. Academic staff are also invited to join our International Week by giving a lecture or a workshop in their field to our students. The event will provide opportunities for networking and sharing knowledge and experiences with colleagues from partner institutions.
Target Group: Administrative and academic staff involved in international affairs, study abroad and exchange.
Places are limited to 30 and priority will be given to participants from our partner institutions.
Why should you attend?
- To find out more about the German university system, specifically Universities of Applied Sciences, and how a German higher education institution operates
- To learn more about current topics relating to the German "Fachhochschule" system
- To be involved in teaching
- To discuss current Erasmus issues with colleagues
- To discover what your students can study at Kiel UAS

- To enjoy a friendly, welcoming atmosphere
Please note that this is a programme which is subject to change. A more detailed schedule will be provided closer to the event. The final programme will be tailored to the participants' interests.
The participation fee of 50 € includes refreshments, programme dinners and the cultural programme. Participants are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses along with any subsistence costs not covered through the Erasmus staff mobility funds available from their home institution. Please contact your International Office and ask for information.

Travelling to Kiel
... by airplane
From Hamburg Airport, the most practical solution is to take the airport shuttle »Kielius«, which makes the trip between Hamburg Airport and Kiel up to 19 times daily. The bus stops at a clearly marked location directly outside the airport terminal. The schedule and prices are available online at www.kielius.de. A one-way ticket costs 21.00 €, a return ticket 37.00 €. Only cash payments are possible on the bus. Online booking is possible.
... by train
Please take the train/S-Bahn to Hamburg Hauptbahnhof, then a train to "Kiel Hauptbahnhof". If you are coming from Hamburg, there is a train connection every hour: www.bahn.de
... by car
Coming from the South:
Drive as far as Hamburg and then follow the A7 motorway to Flensburg/Kiel. At the motorway junction "Bordesholm" switch to the A215 motorway to Kiel. At the end of A215, please follow the B202/B76 in the direction "Lübeck/Ostuferhafen". Follow the B76 until you can turn left onto the B502 (Ostring). Follow this street in the direction "Ostuferhafen". Finally turn left to "Fachhochschule Kiel / Ostuferhafen".
Coming from the North:
Drive southwards on the A7 and switch to the motorway A210 to Kiel at the junction Rendsburg. At the end of the A215, please follow the B202/B76 in the direction "Lübeck/Ostuferhafen". Follow the B76 until you can turn left onto the B502 (Ostring). Follow this street in the direction "Ostuferhafen". Finally turn left to "Fachhochschule Kiel / Ostuferhafen".
