Professional internship

The main goal of the professional training is to obtain specialist skills and knowledge and to be introduced to a hands-on working and learning environment that paves the way for entering a professional job based on the working area of the respective Bachelor’s degree.

It is beneficial to partake in projects with different areas of responsibility and tasks during the Bachelor’s degree.

The professional internship takes place in businesses or other facilities related to the professional practice and is supported and supervised by the university. It is part of the last study section and the minimum length is 10 weeks, except for holidays and other times of absence. Ideally, the students acquire specialist skills through hands-on experiences and gather relevant impressions of future working environments.

As far as possible, the internship offers the possibility to gain insights into operational management and organisation processes, the working atmosphere and potential social challenges in industrial companies.

Another major goal of the professional internship is to apply the theoretically obtained qualifications and knowledge under practical conditions and in a professional environment. For this reason and in most cases, it is not possible to recognise a vocational training that was completed before the beginning of the studies.

If desired, the internship can be attended abroad, too.
