What is the Deutschlandstipendium (DStip)?

The Deutschlandstipendium is a nationwide scholarship programme for excellent students at state universities. In 2018, 27,200 students from the whole nation were sponsored by Deutschlandstipendium.

The chosen scholarship students receive a support of 300.00 euros per month for two consecutive semesters.

Who can apply for it?

  • Students who are enrolled at the University of Applied Sciences Kiel with excellent performance/grades
  • Study applicants who are about to begin bachelor’s or master’s degree courses at the UAS Kiel in the funding period and have submitted their application for a degree course
  • Study applicants who are about to change to the UAS Kiel in the funding period and have submitted their application for a degree course

Which preconditions have to be fulfilled by the students of the UAS Kiel?

  • Particularly excellent performance/grades
  • An average of 15 ETCS per semester

How and where can I apply?

The application can be submitted solely via the online application portal.

The scholarship programme is continued in the funding period September ’21 until August ’22, the application period will be announced at a later date.

Which documents do I have to submit?

All documents must be submitted in digital form via the portal and are verified during the application process.

Students enrolled at the UAS Kiel:

  • a current transcript of records from QIS, which you can download here: https://qis.fh-kiel.de/
  • a current enrolment certificate, which is also available under: https://qis.fh-kiel.de/
  • Students who are not yet in the third or a higher semester at the UAS Kiel, additionally: university entrance qualification

Study applicants (first degree)

  • University entrance qualification
  • Application for a study course at the UAS Kiel must have already been made and an applicant number should be available

 

Applicants who have previously studied at other universities:

  • University entrance qualification (e.g. the bachelor’s degree certificate if you apply for a master’s degree)
  • Proof of placement within the previous degree course which shows the attained average grades must be among the top 20% of the study year
  • Application for a study course at the UAS Kiel must have already been made and an applicant number should be available

 

In addition, all applicants have to submit the explanation for the application for the Deutschlandstipendium.

Which selection criteria exist?

Excellent performance in the study course and the related average grades are the foundation for a successful application.

The commitment at the UAS Kiel, social commitment outside of the UAS Kiel and personal performances and exceptional personal circumstances are also considered in the assessment process. The particular criteria can be read in the Statute of the Deutschlandstipendium of the UAS Kiel.
