First-year students

The first important date of the master program "Data Science" is the welcome event for first-year students. Click here for more information about the welcome event of summer semester 2024.

Programming is an important component of the master's degree Data Science. However, experience has shown that the corresponding prior knowledge varies depending on the previous field of study or professional experience. Therefore, a Precourse Programming will be offered on March 11 - 13. The course aims at providing basic knowledge of programming with Python, thus enabling all students of the Master's program to successfully start their studies. Detailed course information are available here.

If you have acquired only 180 credit points instead of 210 in your first degree, you can read here how to make up the missing 30 credit points. In order to check whether you have to fulfill any requirements in order to obtain your Master's degree, please provide your examination office with evidence of your achievements in your first degree program soon after your enrollment. If applicable, please agree with the head of the study program which achievements need to be made up for.
