Queer Equality Work

The equality body is an active member of the bukof commission for queer equality work at universities. A main strategy of the equality work is issue-related networking with parties from other universities. Thus, networks can be established and strengthened in order to develop expertise and strategies to enact queer policies at the university.

The main topics of queer equality work consist of…

• gender-neutral language
• university infrastructure, e.g. all-gender-welcome restrooms
• first name and marital status modification possibilities
• further training and sensitisation

The first recommendation for action concerning the managing of gender diversity at the university will be published soon by the National Conference of Equality Representatives at Universities (bukof).
