The cen­tral lo­ca­ti­on of Kiel Uni­ver­si­ty of Ap­plied Sci­en­ces is in the city of Kiel, the ca­pi­tal of the Fe­de­ral State of Schles­wig-Hol­stein. It is here that five of the six fa­cul­ties can be found.
The Fa­cul­ties of Com­pu­ter Sci­ence and Elec­tri­cal En­gi­nee­ring, of Me­cha­ni­cal En­gi­nee­ring, of Media, of So­ci­al Work and Health, and fi­nal­ly of Busi­ness Ma­na­ga­ment are si­tua­ted on the new cam­pus in the sub­urb of Diet­richs­dorf over­loo­king the Kiel es­tua­ry.
The Fa­cul­ty of Agri­cul­tu­re is to be found not far from the Kiel Canal in the depths of rural Ös­ter­rön­feld near Rends­burg.
Due to its size and the wide range of sub­jects it of­fers, Kiel Uni­ver­si­ty of Ap­plied Sci­en­ces plays an im­por­tant role in the State of Schles­wig-Hol­stein. It is the only Uni­ver­si­ty of Ap­p­led Sci­en­ces in the State that can offer its full range of de­gree cour­ses.
There is a de­ci­ded in­ter­na­tio­nal slant to its de­gree cour­ses: Kiel Uni­ver­si­ty of Ap­plied Sci­en­ces has co­ope­ra­ti­on agree­ments with over 100 uni­ver­si­ties world­wi­de. And through this in­ter­na­tio­na­li­sa­ti­on, open-min­ded­ness and to­le­ran­ce are prac­ti­sed and are not me­re­ly used as by­wor­ds.
