The ZLL is a central institution of the UAS Kiel. One function of this centre is to offer students help with their competencies beyond specialisation and preparation for professional life if not embedded in the curriculum of the faculties or offered by the centre of languages and intercultural skills. Furthermore, the centre assists members of the university with questions about study quality, development of degree courses and modules as well as with teaching competency development. To complete these tasks, the ZLL is integrating the employees of the project MeQS (more study quality through synergy – teaching development within the network of the university of applied sciences and the university) and the office of the IDW (interdisciplinary weeks).
The employees work on different offers for various target groups which can be used by lecturers and students to improve their teaching and learning success and gain new professional and personal qualifications.
Students can choose from the offers of the interdisciplinary weeks and from the project MeQS, which provides training on scientific writing, time- and self-management and learning strategies all year long.
Lecturers can also choose from various offers. Besides consultation and coaching at the individual teaching development, functions in different formats are offered (workshops, day
of teaching, series of conferences about the quality of teaching). Additionally, lecturers in leading positions e.g. degree course leaders and members of the deanery, can receive support in degree course and module matters regarding e.g. the design of working processes or in the form of moderation of meetings and trainings on teaching development.
The functions of the ZLL are precisely described in the statute.
If you have suggestions about the further development of the offers, please contact us.
