1982 – diploma, degree course in Electrical Engineering at the TU Berlin

1989 – doctoral certificate (Dr.-Ing) with the subject “Integriert-optische Polarisatoren und Absorber” at the TU Berlin

1995 – Appointment as professor at the UAS Kiel

1980 – 1982 – TU Berlin, tutor at the institute of telecommunications

1982 – AEG Berlin, development of high frequency amplifier

1983 – 1988 – TU Berlin, assistant at the institute of high frequency technology

1988 – 1994 – Anschütz & Co., Kiel, hardware and software development for autonomous vehicles, object-oriented data bases for car park monitoring
