Blocking of students wo did not cancel (their participation)

Some students register for more courses than they can actually visit. This is especially troublesome for seminars with a limited number of participants because other students no longer have the possibility to participate. This is why students should only book courses they can attend. Everyone has the possibility to cancel via the registration system or the IDW office.

Since many students booked seminars in preceding interdisciplinary weeks but never showed up, a regulation to make applications more binding was implemented in 2011. Students who do not show up although they are registered can be blocked for the following interdisciplinary weeks. This means they cannot register, participate and have no possibility to earn credit points.

For the next interdisciplinary weeks, those students will be blocked who

  • did not participate in more than two seminars they registered for or
  • did not show up for excursions they registered for or
  • did not participate in seminars they were registered for and for which more than three other students were on the waiting list

These blockings are earmarked for the next interdisciplinary weeks. If you have questions or objections, you can always contact the IDW office via mail, Zukunft(at)fh-kiel.de, or per telephone (0431/210-1050).

Those students who cancelled via the registration system or the IDW office in a timely manner will obviously not be blocked.
