Vibration Analysis for a Highpressure Compressor for the Chemical Industry

A NH3 cooling plant for the production of  monochloracetic acid suffered from insufficient vibration performance right away from its comissioning. A number of measurements were conducted by several institutions during several years. An analysis of these data pointed to a transverse resonance frequency of the high-pressure compressor and its foundation on the base frame in the plants design mode. Thus, a stay with rubber block was installed and subsequent measurements proofed that the vibrations decreased to a suitable level for unrestricted operation.
