Computer Science (Master)

From summer semester 2024, the Master's degree program Computer Science will replace the Information Engineering degree program.

Overview

The Master's degree program in Computer Science is designed to enable graduates of Bachelor's degree programs to pursue a scientific Master's degree. In particular, it is an extremely attractive offer for students who wish to supplement or deepen their skills in the field of media and artificial intelligence. The offer is particularly interesting for graduates of the "Informatik", "Medieningenier/in" und "Wirtschaftsinformatik" programs as well as from other technical and business management courses at Kiel UAS, as they are familiar with the university from their first degree. However, the program is also aimed at students with similar degrees in the field of computer science, in particular students with international Bachelor's degrees. The program offers them the opportunity to continue their scientific education at Kiel UAS in a coordinated manner.

The programme offers modules appropriate to certain professional fields consisting of obligatory and elective modules. In compulsory elective module, more in-depth knowledge in the chosen specialisation is possible. In an additional module, students can also choose between offers from other study programmes, faculties or universities.

Job profile

Potential fields of activity for future graduates can be found in technical research and development, in management and organization, but also in sales-oriented and consulting activities (e.g. as a product specialist and in the context of training courses) or in the area of independent company start-ups. The areas of responsibility can be assigned to the development of methods for data analysis and processing and relate to system architecture, development, integration and optimization. Network management and security and database management and security are further fields of activity, as is the development of algorithms and applications in the area of information technology.
