Prof. Dr.-Ing. Mattes is counselor for the degree program in Mechanical Engineering (Bachelor).

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Mattes is Professor of Production Technology at the faculty of Mechanical Engineering. His main focus is on the topics Machining Processes, Additive Processes (Metal) and Forming Technology.

    • 2017 to 2018: division manager of turning production at Multivac SE (producer of packaging machines)
    • 2014 to 2017: manager of NC-Programming at Siemens AG, Gas Turbine Plant Berlin
    • 2012 to 2014: Innovation Manager at Siemens AG, Division Gas & Power
    • 2009 to 2011: Value Engineer at Rolls-Royce Deutschland Ltd. & Co. KG
    • 2008: PhD for a doctorate in Engineering; topic of the dissertation: “Chipping simulation solutions for tool construction and process design for milling”
    • 2004 to 2008: Scientific employee at the Fraunhofer-Institute for production plants and construction technologies (IPK), partner institute of the Technische Universität Berlin
    • 1999 to 2004: study of Mechanical Engineering, specialisation in production technology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)

    Prof. Dr.-Ing. Mattes is currently leading the research project ProMe-Ki.
