Grading

New examination regulations:

For EMK from WS11/12 on (also for IVE):

The exam grade will be sent to the examination office and published in your grade overview.

If the lab was reported as ‘passed’, the exam grade will also be noted as a module grade. Without a passed lab, the module is also ‘failed’.

A lab can be valued as ‘failed’ if you were missing without an excuse.

The much higher workload in the laboratories is rewarded by the fact that you can only pass the exam if you worked successfully in the lab.

For ME applies since SS12:

ME-Practice: both submissions from the second and third semesters will be weighted into an overall evaluation in percent and registered in QIS.

An audit opinion for the design of the processed task is mandatory, other audits will not be given without the design audit. Audits that are not given will lead to a deduction of 5 points per audit, which influences the lab grade.

ME-Theory: At the end of the third semester, there will be an exam (two dates are offered) whose overall evaluation is weighted in % and is posted in QIS.

The grades from ME-practice and theory will be listed separately in the grade overview and weighted with 7CP (5SWS lab) and 8CP (6SWS lecture) in the overall grade.

It is possible to pass the module although a partial performance has been failed. In this case, you have the possibility to improve the evaluation of the partial performance without losing a ‘free attempt’.

Since 2013:

ME_total = (ME1-P*2,5 + ME2-P*4,5 + ME1-T*3 + ME2-T*5) / 15

The much higher workload in the laboratories is rewarded by the fact that you can only pass the exam if you worked successfully in the lab.

For PRE from WS13/14 on:

Audit and Lab Evaluations are included in the overall evaluation with the following percentages:

40% four audits
20% presentation
40% submission

After that, we will calculate an overall grade (fewer rounding injustices).
