Regulations for the participation in construction lectures EMK-L, ME1-P, ME2-P, MK-L, PRE-L and KONA-L:

The following procedure does not replace registering for the examination.

Normal case
Precondition: You were sorted into a lab group by the deanery of Mechanical Engineering, see https://lms.fh-kiel.de/mod/folder/view.php?id=78928

  1. According to the study regulations, attendance is compulsory. At the beginning, you will be registered in mandatory lists. Please already attend the first date, even if it takes place before the first lecture. Exception: your lab manager has given you another start date.
  2. Absence:
    • absence is excusable if you have a medical certificate or a late return from a semester abroad.
    • missing once without an excuse is curable by good effort.
    • for any absence, you must catch up on the topic and submit it to the lab manager if requested.
  3. Those who do not show up on the first date and do not initiate registering on the mandatory list will lose their claim for a seat when someone else shows up.
=> In this case, please see “Stragglers and lateral entrants”.
  4. Those who show up beginning with the third date
    • please note points 1 to 3,
    • still have a small chance to participate and
    • an even smaller chance of maintaining their seats,
=> see “Stragglers and lateral entrants”.

Switching lab and practice groups:

You have a seat in one group and want to change to another?

For that, you need somebody of your wish group who is willing to switch.

Please inform your lecturer together.

Stragglers and lateral entrants:

You are from a higher semester or another university?

Show up at the first date of the seminar which fits your schedule.

    • If you are one of the first twelve participants, you will get a seat.
      => see “Normal case” above.
    • Register in a list with your email address.
    • After the end of the block, you have completed your mandatory attendance for the first week!
    • All lab teachers will make a report for the lecturers on the same day with
      • all candidates on their provisional lists or
      • the number of free seats in their seminar.
    • The lecturer will tell you how many seats are still available in which group.
  1. From the second week on, please visit all seminars that fit your schedule until you have found a seat!
  1. Please also note the regulations for the “Normal case”, see above!
